Meade LX-10 8in SCT

I purchased this Meade LX-10 from Astronomics in Norman, Oklahoma (Home of the OKLAHOMA SOONERS : )

I was curious to see how this performed for the price. The optics were excellent on this scope. Contrast was about as good as I can recall from any of the 8 inch SCTs  I have owned or viewed through. There was a slight blue effect that was noticeable on objects, but I think that was the result of the EMC coatings and also the source of the excellent contrast provided by this scope. The LX-10 uses the simple drive and electronics and seemed to function quite well. One addition I always add to any of the SCTs I have owned is a Motor-Focus assist unit. The long focal ration and high magnification makes it touchy to manually focus at higher magnifications.
