Pentax XL 

Pentax XLs I currently have the 5.2, 7, 10.5, 14, 21, 28 and 40mm XLs. These eyepieces are without doubt the most comfortable eyepieces I have ever used. All of these eyepieces offer a nice 65 degree field of view and provide excellent contrast for complex element eyepieces. These are all 1.25 inch eyepieces with the exception of the 40mm. These all have excellent eye relief, fully adjustable eyecups, and are very well behaved in regards to the kidney bean effect or blackout. The 7mm and 5.2 are not quite as sharp as the Takahashi LEs, but the added field of view and eye relief make them the first choice for the Dob. The 40mm has become my low power eyepiece of choice. Very sharp over about 95% of the field with only a slight drop off at the very edge. This line of eyepieces has recently been replaced by the new XW series.
