Classic Tele Vue WF & Nagler |

Left to right: 4.8mm Nagler, 7mm Nagler, 15mm Wide Field, 19mm Wide Field, and 24mm Wide Field The Tele Vue wide fields were the predecessor to the Panoptics. with a 65 degree field of view. They are very good medium wide field eyepieces and the original smooth side construction is substantial. The 15mm has very short eye relief and is a bit difficult to use. The 19mm is a bit better and provides a sharp view across about 90% of the field. I have had this 24mm Wide Field eyepiece for almost 20 years now and it is still one of my favorites. It looses a bit of sharpness at the very edge of the field but is overall excellent as far as image sharpness and contrast is concerned.. Tele-Vue Naglers I have the old smooth side 4.8 and 7mmNaglers. Rather touchy to use due to eye relief and positioning, but they are generally excellent ultra wide field eyepieces. |
