Everybody should own a short tube, wide field, grab and go scope. This is one of the later models from China and was available at a very attractive price. When I first received this scope and took it out for first light amd was quite disappointed. The star images were comets and the focuser was so stiff that I could not focus without moving off the target image. Off the mount and on the bench. I loosened the objective retaining ring, held the scope upright and shook it lightly, then re-tightened the retaining ring until it just touched the objective. This took care of the "pinched optics" and greatly improved the image. I then took the focuser apart and cleaned out the dampening grease that is so common in cheap focusers. I re-lubed it with lithium grease and adjusted the tension to a much more usable pressure and took it back out to see the results of my labor. Major improvement. The star images were greatly improved and I could now focus the scope with out the use of a crow bar. This is a very good little scope for quick looks. Maximum magnification I could use without image breakdown was about 80x. Again...for the price a nice little scope.
