Tele Vue TV-76 |

The TV-76 is a great little travel scope.. The size is the same as the Pronto and about the only physical difference is that it weighs about 1/2 pound more. (It feels the same) It is very well constructed and is a well thought out design to try and minimize space. This is the second TV 76 I have owned and really enjoy using it. I sold the first one I had to Mr. Todd Gross (the Weatherman). To quote Todd "Fabulous scope!!!...great star test. Wouldn't it be nice if we could keep them all : ).He was right, so I bought another one. At 200x (4.8 Nagler and 2x Ultima Barlow) there was only a small trace of color fringe on Jupiter. Nice banding and a decent amount of detail for a 3 inch scope. Saturn is very sharp at 100x. M104 and M51 are both easy, even when attacked on two sides by porch lights. All in all I have been quite pleased. Accessories include the Tele Vue Starbeam 1x finder (my favorite if you have not noticed) and Tele Vue Everbright 2in diagonal. The cap on the diagonal is one of the DDCAPs from Particle Wave Technologies. It is a very nice accessory that contains a desiccant to help reduce moisture in the OTA. It is shown mounted on a Tele Vue Tele-Pod mount, custom oak legs, TV encoders, and NGC-MAX DSC computer.
